When classic pairings leads to head-to-toe luxe.
Comfy, cozy neutrals that keep you warm are my new favorite formula when it comes to dressing for cooler temps. First of all, everything matches. Light, bright whites, blush tones, and greys are all on my list of go-to winter neutrals, and these beige booties from Dolce Vita really help transition this outfit from winter to spring. (Any "shootie" will do that, and I have a feeling they're going to be all over the place this year!) The best part: since we tend to invest a little bit more in the neutral, statement pieces, you'll end up wearing an outfit made up of your favorite, most comfortable pieces. Total comfort and head-to-toe luxe? I'll take it.
The Sweater and Coat: are on sale at J.Crew now! I have always kind of loved J.Crew. This past season they had some really amazing sales (I got both these items for 40% off!) The key to shopping at J.Crew is to just wait for the item you want to go on sale. Because it will *probably* go on sale within a month. Just keep an eye on it online! I love the weight of this sweater, it's incredibly warm without being suffocating or too heavy. The jacket is a classic and something I'll keep the rest of my life.
The Clutch and Sunnies: I always feel that an outfit made up entirely of whites and other light colors needs something to ground it- keep it from floating to close to the sun. I chose my favorite classic brown wayfarers (similar pair below for $10!) and the structured black leather Lions in Four clutch that I can't seem to get away from. Lions in Four is a socially conscious brand that helps women in India keep steady jobs and healthy livelihoods. I've written more about them here, and you can read more about what they do here!
The Jeans: The white legging ankle jeans are actually from Free People. I've spent years trying to find the most perfect pair of white jeans. And friends, I think we all know what a disappointing struggle that can be. When I found this pair from Free People I was overjoyed. They are not see through in any way, but they still have tons of stretch and comfort. Plus, they're under $100, a price I'd gladly pay for a such a great staple item that goes with everything!
The Shoes: are beyond comfortable. The shootie is a great option for transitioning outfits from winter to spring. Plus, I love the feel and look of the chunky heel. I'm also really excited to wear these during the summer- I can see them paired with a fun bright red or orange dress, or dressed down with a pair of shorts and a blouse.
