Do you Plan Your Wardrobe by Season?
One thing that's been so interesting since I started blogging again back in January is how much I've embraced planning. Since I only have the ability right now to post *maybe* one outfit per week, it's really forced me to buckle down on exactly which topics and trends I want to cover, and then how to translate that information via an outfit. When I started the blog back up, I was honestly dreading planning and managing my time to get enough to get posts up. I didn't know how I would manage my time, and I still struggle with that now sometimes, but I'm glad I stopped letting that reasoning hold me back from taking the leap. The most surprising thing I've learned about myself is how much I am enjoying planning now, whether it's my editorial calendar (done through December!) planning our home renovation, planning how I want decorate our house this fall, or how I plan which outfits to feature for the season, I'm here.for.it. I use to think that having a plan in place would make things boring, but contrary to that belief and due to all the planning I've done, I am so excited for all the things to come because there is so much to look forward to!
Now, never will I be a capsule wardrobe person, because as much as I love a wardrobe full of basics, when I find something special or sparkly I'm hardly one to resist. That being said, one aspect I do like about capsule wardrobes is the planning process! I like the idea of planning your purchases for the season around what you already own, and along the tenants of what you are most comfortable and confident wearing. I've already started planning my fall wardrobe on Pinterest and I know I need a new pair of leather leggings, a puffed sleeve blouse, and a cozy cashmere sweater. I save all my favorites to a Pinterest board, and then either purchase when they go on promotion or sale or let them serve as inspiration while I find something similar that fits the budget!
I'm planning to share my fall favorites here on the blog soon, (I already shared my favorite fall accessory trend here) but if you can't wait, you can shop them in my new "Shop" folder at the top (or click here!). I also added a few favorites to the sidebar so you can see them no matter where you are on the site!
I'd love to hear, do you plan your wardrobe by season?
