My Favorite Pieces from PreFall 2022

I love collecting my favorite new designer looks season after season. I may live far from New York and Paris, but the accessibility to runway shows that actually started years ago (hello style.com) has turned into a fully shoppable preorder experience (hello Moda Operandi). It feels like I can still be a part of that world, part of something I consider truly special, from couture ballgowns to simple everyday sweaters. I may not ever get there, but keeping up with the new debuts of incredible clothing each season is something I always look forward to.

For Pre Fall, I loved the decadent throwback to 50s silhouettes, from the gold lame Carolina Herrera ballgown to the pale blue Markarian slim taffeta gown reminiscent of something Jackie O might have worn to a dinner party, to a pretty blue A-line day dress from Markarian you might have seen on Marilyn Monroe. From there, there were some truly British swinging 60s silhouettes from Erdem, and from Oscar de la Renta, 70s inspired rainbow florals and bell-sleeved knit dresses were front and center.
