These Are My 5 Favorite Wineries in Napa (Plus 3 on my list for next time)

You may have caught on my Instagram last week that we escaped for a little wine country getaway that was so relaxing and out-of-this-world delicious. I’ve been to Napa Valley a few times before, and on each trip, I pickup a few more tips on how to maximize the experience: where to go, what to see and how to leave feeling inspired and refreshed. Read through for my favorite wineries, accompanied by a few tips on how to have the best wine country trip ever.

Stags’ Leap

Stags' Leap Winery

Located of the picturesque Silverado Trail, the historic estate is really stunning, and boasts some pretty amazing stories — definitely worth booking a private tour if you can. It’s truly a hidden gem where tastings begin at its striking nineteenth century Manor House and continue throughout the stunning estate.

Mumm

Mumm Napa

Not far away is Mumm, known for their sparkling wines, set on a hilltop overlooking their vineyards below. Book a reservation, enjoy the view, and toast to your wine country trip.

Ram’s Gate

Ram's Gate Winery

Hands down, my favorite winery in Sonoma is Ram’s Gate. This truly stunning modern farmhouse winery has some of the most delicious wines in the area, and offers feast for the eyes as well (think Restoration Hardware meets Napa Valley). For a special treat, walk through the vineyards to the picturesque pond at the bottom of the hill.

Gloria Ferrer

Gloria Ferrer

Gloria Ferrer is another sparkling winery that was recommended to me by a friend, and I highly recommend it. While it’s worth a visit just for the views alone, the tastings were incredible. Get a table overlooking the vineyards, and then after, pop across the road to Cornerstone Sonoma to shop and walk through their incredible gardens.

Duckhorn

Duckhorn Winery

Photo is from their instagram! I have plenty of my own, but nothing that shows the surrounding area as well as this

This most recent trip was my first time at Duckhorn, and it was the most spectacular visit on our trip. Set far off the main roads, I was instantly relaxed driving up the winding road to the estate, you are greeted by a beautiful blue Victorian estate with a dreamy wraparound porch. Tranquility at it’s finest, exceeded only by the most incredible wines.

On my next trip…

Etude

Hearalded for their well-known pinot, this winery boasts incredible views and an educations class about the production of their wines. I’d love to visit here on my next trip!

Quintessa

This winery features an incredible modern-contemporary tasting room with really remarkable floor-to-ceiling glass windows to best enjoy the view of the lake down the hill. For the ultimate experience, I’d book a private tour and tasting.

Promontory

This winery looks absolutely incredible - from the modern design to the views to the wine itself. This is a can’t miss stop on your next wine country weekend.
